Build an Agent Day Register

The hands-on AI agent workshop · A program of All Things AI

One day. One working AI agent. Built by you, for your job.

A one-day, hands-on workshop for business professionals, government leaders, and educators. Walk in with a workflow you hate. Walk out with an agent that does it for you — no coding required. If you can write a clear how-to email, you can build an agent.

What you build & walk out with

A working agent — not a slide deck.

By 6 PM you have something running against your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account. You codify a workflow you own as an AI agent and walk out with a working automation built on Claude Cowork (Anthropic), ChatGPT Agents (OpenAI), or Manus.

  1. 1

    Pick a workflow

Reports, intake, scheduling, drafting, research — bring the one you hate.

  2. 2

    Codify it as a skill

Capture your expertise as instructions an AI agent can follow.

  3. 3

    Wire it into your stack

Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, your CRM, your inbox.

  4. 4

    Ship it the same day

Demo it before you leave. Take the pattern home and build again.

Who it's for

Built for non-developers who have real work to automate.

No coding background required. You'll use Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Agents, and Manus at a level that never asks you to write production code.

Business professionals

An agent that drafts your weekly report, triages your inbox, or runs the research outreach you never get to.

Government leaders

An agent that triages constituent intake, summarizes public-comment dockets, or pre-screens RFPs — with an audit trail you can defend.

Educators

An agent that drafts rubrics, gives first-pass feedback on student work, or builds study plans from a syllabus.

Mark Hinkle's AI workshops across The AIE Network
"The best day I've spent on learning in a long time. As a complete non-techie, I've already started building my first app using Manus. This event gave me the confidence I needed to get started — with zero coding experience."
Laura Briscoe
Sr. Manager, Curation to Execution · Mayo Clinic
"As a COO of a medium-sized company, the training was perfect for my role and skillset. Being able to render an updated website to my team using Manus in about 10 minutes was an amazing experience."
Nick Chae
COO · Danner Corporation
"I'm done reading 'agents will be able to' — I'm ready for 'this is how you make an agent,' which is exactly what this session was."

The day

From keynote to working agent in eight hours.

The same eight-hour arc runs at every city stop. Todd Lewis (All Things Open) opens the day; Mark Hinkle teaches the full build. Because every workshop is live, the schedule flexes to the room.

  1. 9:00 AM Welcome & the build mindset. Todd Lewis & Mark Hinkle open: build first, debate later.
  2. 9:15 AM Crack open the agent. Model, tools, memory, and the agent loop — draw one on a napkin.
  3. 10:00 AM Pick your first three agents. Mark's S.M.A.R.T. framework — leave with three real tasks ready to automate.
  4. 10:45 AM Write your first skill. The anatomy of a SKILL.md — plus the self-improving "lessons learned" pattern.
  5. Midday Three stacks, three builds. Ship a Manus research agent, a ChatGPT Workspace agent, and a Claude Cowork agent wired to your tools.
  6. 4:30 PM Your Monday plan + Q&A. A ranked punch list of agents to build first this week, plus governance.
See the full agenda

8:00–9:00 · Registration, coffee & welcome. Pick up your badge, meet your cohort, sign in to the laptop you actually use at work.

11:30–12:15 · Ship an autonomous research agent (Manus). Build a Morning Brief that triages email, preps your calendar, and ranks the day's news — running on a 6 AM schedule.

1:15–2:30 · Put an agent to work on your data (ChatGPT Workspace Agents). Wire an agent to Drive, email, or your CRM with a human checkpoint before anything goes live.

2:45–4:00 · Build the agent that knows your job (Claude Cowork). Drop in your SKILL.md, connect Slack/Notion/Gmail, run an end-to-end workflow, schedule it as a recurring agent.

4:00–4:30 · Turn drafts you'd reject into output you'd ship. The weekly refinement habit that takes an agent from a 3 to a 9.

Each city's specific speakers and rooms confirm closer to the date. The outcomes don't change; the path we take to get there might.

FAQ

Everything you'd ask before buying a ticket.

Do I need to be a developer?

No. The day is designed for non-developers — business pros, government staff, K-12 and higher-ed faculty. You'll use Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Agents, and Manus at a level that never asks you to write production code. If you can write a clear how-to email, you can build an agent.

What does it cost, and can my employer reimburse it?

Early bird $297 · standard $397 · all-inclusive (eight hours of instruction, all three agent stacks, meals, materials, and the working agent you take with you). Most employers reimburse it under professional-development or continuing-education budgets — we provide an expense-ready receipt on request.

What should I bring, and what will I leave with?

Bring the laptop you actually use at work, signed in to your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account, and one workflow you wish you didn't have to do anymore. You'll leave with a working agent wired to your real tools, a reusable skill that captures your expertise, the agent design patterns to build more, and a year of community access.

Which AI tools does it cover?

Three agent stacks: Claude Cowork (Anthropic) for knowledge workers automating their own jobs, ChatGPT Agents (OpenAI) for enterprise IT and sales operations, and Manus for research-heavy, long-running tasks. You build the same workflow on all three and pick the one that fits your environment.

How is this different from an online AI course?

Online courses give you concepts. Build An Agent Day gives you a working agent connected to your real work tools, built in a room with peers and an instructor walking every table. You don't go home with a reading list — you go home with something that runs.
